AFJ Stories began with a simple belief: some experiences are too important to remain unspoken.
Stories of faith, family, migration, loneliness, identity, healing and adulthood became the foundation of the music. Some chapters are drawn from personal experiences. Others are shaped by the realities carried by people who voices are rarely heard fully.
This is not music created simply to fill silence. It is music created to give meaning to it.
Every chapter is shaped by one or more of the five foundations of AFJ Stories.
FAITH
The prayers, questions and quiet hope that carry us through uncertain seasons.
FAMILY
The people who shape us, the sacrifices we inherit and the relationships we continue to understand
MIGRATION
The emotional cost of leaving, rebuilding and discovering what home truly means.
IDENTITY
The journey of becoming, belonging and making peace with who we have been.
HEALING
The courage to face what hurts and move forward without pretending the past never happened.
AFJ Stories was founded by Franklyn Atogu, a Nigerian storyteller and songwriter whose work is shaped by lived experience, cultural memory and honest observation.
Through cinematic songs and spoken-word storytelling, he explores the realities of family, migration, responsibility, faith, relationships and the years of adulthood nobody fully prepares us for.
Each release is treated as a chapter, not only something to hear, but something in which listeners can recognise part of themselves.
AFJ Stories is becoming a home for the experiences people have carried privately.
Your story may become the beginning of a future song, spoken-word chapter or community conversation, always approached with care, dignity and respect.
We believe stories can remind people that they are not alone. Meaningful music should do more than entertain, it should preserve memories, open conversations and help people recognise themselves.
Every song is a chapter. Some stories are sung. Others are lived.
